40 Years of Science Visualization

Visualizing often encoded data makes new, previously hidden, but real worlds accessible to humankind. Art is taking up this new knowledge and transferring it into new dimensions through visualization.

Edited by Alfred Vendl and Martina R. Fröschl

This book brings together a wide spectrum of contributions to visualization in science, media, and art: notable experts and associates of the Science Visualization Lab at the University of Applied Arts Vienna present outstanding examples of innovative visualization and provide insight into their working methods.

The publication charts various approaches to the extension of perception and the rendering visible of the invisible.

If the doors of perception were cleansed everything would appear to man as it is, Infinite.
